How do I BnB?
First time to a Bed and Breakfast?
Bed and Breakfast is our favorite lodging style. Not only do you get the enjoyment of your trip as you would if you stayed at a hotel or Airbnb, but you get to really meet new people – your innkeepers and other guests at your lodging.
When you stay at our BnB, it’s all about you! When you arrive, we will great you at the door (please give us an ETA so we know when to expect you) and give you a quick tour of our house on the way to your room. Each room has its own private bath, thermostat, bottled water, and phone chargers. We will give you a key to your room and the front door. After you settle in, the evening is up to you. We have nearly two acres so you can relax outside by the Koi pond, on the deck over the lake, in the gazebo, or upstairs – or walk the Historic Granbury Square. We usually have our own happy hour around 5 and welcome your joining us before you go to dinner. When you get back, at whatever time suits you, we have a lots of puzzles and games (cards, Rock ‘em Sock ‘em, cards, Battleship, etc.) in the upstairs sitting room if you want to play around before you retire to your room. If the weather is conducive, we frequently light the firepit and put on music and enjoy the spacious backyard.
The next morning, breakfast is usually at nine. We have a Keurig machine in the sitting room if you want to just enjoy your quiet time or you can come to the dining room and grab a cup of coffee or tea and a sweet treat and relax in the parlor until Melissa finishes in the kitchen. We can accommodate special dietary needs. You will not go away hungry! Linger at the table as long as you like, get to know your fellow travelers. The other morning, one of our guests brought out his guitar and we had a sing-a-long!
And if you indulge yourself with multiple nights, we repeat the routine, with a different breakfast menu, again the next day.
A few rules: Because of Health Department rules, and to provide better service to you, guests need to stay out of the kitchen. Along with that, we will clear the table after breakfast ourselves. Remember, it’s all about you! And on your last day, checkout is at 11 to enable us to prepare the room for our next guests. If you would like, many of our guests ask us to take their picture on the front porch to give themselves a memento. Now that we have met each other, we would like you to come back and see us again!
